Some ideas

For the past several weeks, our Extreme Affordability class has been working with some of the men and women who make Stanford such a pleasant place to study...They are the carpenters, the plumbers, and the police force, to name a few.

The overall sentiment was that these people work without recognition nor appreciation. Now they do not ask for recognition. But what if we used this random act of kindness concept to let them know how much we appreciate them.

One of the carpenters said that his most memorable day in 10 years was when a client walked to his office and thanked him...thats in 10 years.

One of the plumbers had a huge thank you sign (a simple scribbled note) from some students..and this was the spotlight of his office.

The police staff are eager to connect with students over common passions...They feel excluded, like minorities, we people often tense up and run away when they enter the room.

What if we could send them notes of our appreciation.....
